FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami
Beach is a five day event that provides an innovative platform for established
and emerging designers to showcase their collections to media, celebrities,
international buyers, style makers and influencers. The shows are geared towards designer diffusion collections and

spectacles. The unique environment created by
Art Conductor captivates the attention, enriching and diversifying Funkshion into
multidisciplinary experience. Traditional fashion platform infused with art
creates a new way to submerge the viewer and embrace all of the senses.

Cubavera featuring their newest looks for spring
In 1967, Cuban-born George Feldenkreis and his brother
Isaac established Supreme International. They began by importing children’s
school uniforms from Japan into Puerto Rico, then focused on guayaberas, the
four pocket embroidered tropical shirt that is one of the most authentic symbols
of Latin culture. George expanded the business to Miami, where he became known
as the "Guayabera King."
Building on the success of Perry
Ellis International, George and Oscar Feldenkreis decided to capitalize on the
growth, potential, and appeal of Latin culture by expanding into a full
lifestyle brand, and it 2000 launched Cubavera.
Original Penguin Clothing Company
Abbot Pederson was an ambitious
salesman who worked for the Munsingwear undergarment factory in Minneapolis. On
a sales trip to NYC in 1955, finding himself with some time to kill before a
flight home, he decided to wait out his time in a local bar. Stumbling out to
find a taxi stand, he took a wrong turn down a Manhattan street and found
himself in front of a display of stuffed penguins in a taxidermist’s window.
Before he knew it, he had bought one of the penguins, named him Pete, and was
soon enjoying cocktails with him on the flight back to Minneapolis.
