PREMIO LO NUESTRO A LA MUSICA LATINA 2015

With 25 uninterrupted years, Premio Lo Nuestro has become the awards to music longest running Spanish-language Latin music awards show in TV history. Nominations are based on Nielsen airplay tracking data and the winners are determined by popular vote each year. The show features 35 categories, representing all the most popular music genres. One of the most nominated artists of this year was Marco Antonio Solís. During the main gala, there were three special awards that celebrated the individuals that have impacted Latinos with their art. Ricardo Arjona received the “Excellence Award “in honor of his longevity in the music industry and his contributions to Latin music. Roberto Gómez Bolaños "Chespirito" was remembered during the ceremony in a tribute to the late comedic genius. Laura Pausini received a special award honoring her successful career that spans over 20 years in the industry with the "Musical Trajectory Award". The event was hosted by Galilea Montijo and telenovela actor Cristián De La Fuente. The red carpet was hosted by Chiquinquirá Delgado who received all the celebrities walking in and setting foot on the red carpet with their most fashionable outfits. Helping the "Nuestra Belleza Latina" host was Tony Dandrades, Raúl de Molina and Rodner Figueroa. "La Gata" telenovela star Maite Perroni also joined the team as a carpet and social media host during the ceremony. Opening up the show was Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull, joined by music sensation Gente de Zona.    

Each year the most prominent showbiz celebrities gather to award the prize awarded by the public to the most prestigious music artists in different genres of Latin music as well as recognize the most outstanding with the highest award of the music: Premio Lo Nuestro Excellence. Among the artists who have earned this recognition are, Juan Gabriel, Celia Cruz, Ricky Martin, Luis Miguel, Alejandro Sanz, Vicente Fernandez, Juan Luis Guerra and more recently Marc Anthony.

Premio Lo Nuestro was held at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL on Thursday February 19^th, 2015. The show was aired live on Univision. This year’s performances graced the stage with the following artists: Maná & Shakira, Marc Anthony & Romeo Santos, Ricardo Arjona, Thalia & Becky G, Ricky Martin, Marco Antonio Solís, Chiquis, Marc Anthony, Gerardo Ortiz, Laura Pausini & Marc Anthony, Pitbull & Gente de Zona, Laura Pausini, Pablo Alborán, Prince Royce, Camila, J Balvin, Juanes, Farruko, Wisin & Sean Paul performed “Passion Wine” & the closing of the show ended with an amazing performance by Victor Manuelle who sang “Que Suenen los Tambores”.

Latin Connection TV host Erica Cuascut was one of the 300 folkloric dancers for Victor Manuelle during his performance “Que Suenen los Tambores”.
