White
Carpet & Awards Show
The 2015 Latin Billboard Awards White
Carpet Was Sequined, Colorful and Ruffled All Over and kicked off with a bang
in Miami Thursday April 30, 2015. There was no shortage of glitz, glamour, and
of course, Jennifer
Lopez.
Stars stepped out in revealing necklines, sequins and not to mention, a whole
lot of sky-high slits. Lopez, who was set to pay tribute to Selena
Quintanilla
during the ceremony and did an amazing job also looked stunning in a silver jumpsuit
and white cape.
Enrique Iglesias, who followed closely with 19 nominations,
was the night’s other big winner, clinching nine awards, including Latin pop
album of the year (Sex & Love),
Latin pop song of the year, airplay song of the year, hot Latin song of
the year, and streaming song of the year on the strength of his
mega-hit "Bailando" featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona.
Latin urban sensation and
relative newcomer to the charts J Balvin, a finalist in 12 categories, edged out his
competitors in the Latin rhythm songs artist of the year, solo; Latin
rhythm song of the year ("6 A.M."
featuring Farruko); the coveted artist of the year,
new, categories.
Special honors went to
Latin music icons Carlos Santana and Roberto Carlos, who were recognized with the Spirit of Hope
award and Lifetime Achievement Award, respectively. Social artist of the year
went to Shakira -- no surprise, since the Colombian
superstar touts more than 100 million likes on Facebook alone, more than
anyone on the planet. Congratulations to all the winners!
